Vegetation: a natural thermal protector

Vegetation is an essential element in the design of a bioclimatic house.

It also protects habitat from strong winds by reducing their intensity. In this case, we will choose trees with persistent and very dense leaves.

Deciduous plant is a periodic annual regulator of the amount of solar radiation on the facades of the habitat.

Another very effective way to use vegetation as a thermal protector is to use climbing plants.

On the diagram opposite, we can see the different functions that can be fulfilled by this type of plant.

Did you know that….

The wooded areas have lower thermal amplitudes and lower temperatures in summer than the built and concreted areas.
